Top 100

Each track was scored by TuneJury A1 (paper), a model trained to predict which of two clips people prefer. The score is the average over three 10-second windows of the track.

This is the model's opinion, not a measure of quality. It agreed with our own blind listening 8 times in 12, too few to call. It does not predict chart success: a track's score is unrelated to how long the song it mirrors stays on its chart. It prefers some cities' sound: city alone explains a third of the scores.

So the list is capped at two tracks per city. Without the cap the top 100 covers only 38 cities, Hong Kong 7, Lima 6. The cap drops 31 of those tracks and brings in 15 more cities. Six tracks hidden on the radio for audible stutters are left out.
